FABRIC OF OUR DNA

This project was developed for House of Soli, a fashion and arts collective preparing for their 2025 runway production, Fabric of Our DNA. The goal was to create a sponsorship proposal for the upcoming event, which was a multidisciplinary showcase uplifting Black creatives across fashion, visual arts, and storytelling. In partnership with the Halifax Public Library and the Union of Black Artists Society, this year’s production aims to honor the legacy of Dr. Joyce Ross while expanding its reach beyond the runway.

My role was to summarize and design a compelling sponsorship package that captured the event’s mission and cultural significance, and helped secure support for its launch.

Problem Statement:

House of Soli was preparing to launch its 2025 season of Fabric of Our DNA, an annual fashion and art showcase uplifting Black creatives. As the event grew in scale and scope, partnering with organizations like the Halifax Public Library and the Union of Black Artists Society, there was a pressing need for a polished, compelling sponsorship proposal.

The existing materials were text-based only and required visual storytelling, and with time-sensitive goals to secure funding and release to the public, House of Soli needed strategic design and communications support.

Solution:

To meet this need, I developed a professionally designed sponsorship package that clearly outlined event details, customizable sponsorship tiers, and the deeper cultural mission behind the project.

I refined and formatted the event’s messaging to better resonate with potential sponsors, making the content more engaging while visually aligning it with the creative and community-centered tone of the event. The final product balanced clarity, design aesthetics, and flexibility, empowering the House of Soli team to confidently present the proposal to funders and partners.

Project Role:

I led the visual design of the sponsorship proposal. This involved summarizing the executive materials, establishing a visual hierarchy for readability, and creating a branded layout that reflected the spirit and storytelling elements of the Fabric of Our DNA event. I worked collaboratively with Soli to iterate on structure and content, ensuring the final document aligned with the mission and urgency of the campaign.
